This unique looking plant is actually a succulent native to West Africa but also found in tropical Asia and India. This very distinctive plant has spines along its stems and small leaves that cover the edges of the stems and stalk. The plant is also known as an African Milk Tree which is given due to the milky white sap that comes out when it is cut or broken.
Light conditions: position in bright, direct light.
Neediness: Easy to care for but remember that your cactus needs dusting to unblock its pores, helping it to breathe.
Watering: Euphorbia do not handle prolonged period of drought well, instead water when the top few inches of soil feels dry, possibly as much as weekly throughout warmer months. Expect to reduce the frequency during the winter months.
Ideal location: bedrooms, living rooms and studies
Rate of growth: average, they can reach 8ft and have a tendency to be top heavy due to their shallow roots so do expect to support the plant with canes where necessary.
Temperature: keep at a normal room temperature
