There's something so elegant about the feather-like fronds on a Fern and this variety, often referred to as a Wood Fern due to how it naturally grows all year-round in woodlands, is no exception. It's a semi-evergreen Fern, so it will keep its leaves almost for the entire year, meaning you can admire it even in the depths of winter.
Dryopteris is a Fern genus of around 225 species. Its name derives from the Greek words 'drys' (meaning tree) and 'pteris' (meaning fern).
The Wood Fern likes shadier spots. Be careful of positioning it in full sunlight, as this could scorch its leaves. It commonly grows on moist soils in woodlands, so try not to let its soil dry out when grown in your garden.
