If you're looking for an easy care plant that can handle shaded areas of your garden, whether in a pot or flowerbed, the Hosta Pilgrim makes a fantastic option. Its variegated, heart-shaped foliage adds a point of interest, and over time the gold edges around the leaves will fade to white.
The Hosta Pilgrim does produce flowers, but their life span is short and sweet, so keep an eye out for purple coloured blooms in July.
Hosta plants originate from woodland areas in Japan and are known for growing well in shady conditions. In fact, too much sunlight could result in their leaves becoming scorched. With moist, well-drained soil they should be happy.
