With classic ivy-shaped leaves, it's hard to resist this timeless climbing, evergreen shrub. It's hardy and easy to care for, plus its dark green leaves have a golden-yellow variegation to them, adding colour and interest to this plant's charm. Mature plants produces yellowish-green flower clusters which are usually followed by black berries.
The word 'Helix' in this plant's name is translated from Greek to mean twist and turn which is a reference to how the vines rotate as they grow.
It’s estimated that across the different species of Ivy, there are nearly 400 cultivars, and some make popular houseplants, too. However to grow this plant outside, it'll need full sun or partial shade, and it likes its soil to be well drained. The Ivy Hedera Helix Kolibri works well in a variety of locations from hanging baskets, patio pots or planted into a flowerbed.

As this is a climbing vine, it develops rootlets as it grows, so it can attach itself to stone or wood surfaces, for example. You could make the most of this by allowing it to spread over a trellis or fence to create a striking display.
