With magnificant in it's latin name, this tropical plant certainly lives up to expectations, growing pink flowers that resemble clusters of grapes. Medinilla plants can be epiphytic in the rainforest, meaning they will grow on top of other plants.
Medinilla is part of the Melastomaceae family and its origins are in the Philippines.
The Rose Grape thrives in a humid environment, much like its tropical native home, so mist it reguarly and keep away from dry heat. A Medinilla shrub can grow to around four foot, but if that isn't your thing, prune it after flowering.
