With origins in the tropical climates of South America, the Blue Crown Passionflower will definitely bring something a little more exotic to your outdoor space. Its blooms feature bands of colour in blue, purple yellow and brown - they almost look as if they've been hand painted on. Egg-sized orange fruits follow these flowers, and whilst they are edible, they're not the most flavorsome.
The Blue Crown Passionflower will attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators to your garden.
As the plant hails from warmer countries, you may not be surprised to learn it thrives in the sun, and while it can tolerate some shade, it may need protection from harsh winter weather such as frosts. This evergreen plant will flower from July to September, and works well in both pots and flowerbeds.
