This Brazilian cactus is famed for its blue skin and wispy white 'hair'. They are tree-like in appearance and can grow flowers which are tube-shaped. In the wild, these can grow up to 3 metres tall, but don't worry about them getting that big when grown indoors.
No prizes for guessing why this plant's name derives from the Latin for 'hairy cereus'.
These are fast-growing cacti that need good drainage to ensure they are not sat in water. Being native to Brazil, they like warm and tropical conditions. Provided you protect them from the cold, these plants are very easy to care for.
