The Sago Palm, otherwise known as a Cycas revoluta.
CONDITIONS: Native to Japan and cultivated as an ornamental plant.
LIGHT: Position in bright, indirect light.
WATER: Keep the soil moist, not soggy. If planted in a pot with no drainage holes, mist weekly.
CARE: Remove dust with a damp cloth to unblock leaves’ pores. This will help the plant breathe.
PETS: No snacking. This plant is toxic to cats and dogs if digested.
FACT: The term ‘sago’ refers to a type of edible starch that can be extracted from these plants and is used as a food source in Asia.
