Yes, this plant does look familiar - although it's not the usual Snake Plant you may recognise it as - it's a compact hybrid. The Mikado part of this plant is where it gets its tall, spikey structure from. In fact, Bacularis comes from the Latin word baculum meaning rod or stick - hence its appearance. In true Snake Plant style, it's very low maintenance and a great air purifier, too.
Besides from Snake Plant, you may hear this plant being referred to as Witches' Fingers as Mikados are characterised by their long fronds.
This plant is native to West Africa, so it is accustomed to dry conditions. Be careful not to overwater it, in fact, it will probably still thrive if you're prone to forgetting to water your plants as it prefers its soil to dry out before its next watering.

Remember, it's normal for this plant to have scarring or small nicks on their leaves - don't take it personally - it doesn't impact their health or mean you're a bad plant parent either.
