A distinctive succulent plant with hanging tendrils of lush bright green beads. This is native to the drier parts of southwest Africa. Perfect for shelves or hanging pots.
Light conditions: indirect, bright light (for example not on a windowsill that gets direct sun at any point in the day)
Neediness: this plant can survive periods without watering. Trimming of dead stems and beads will promote a fuller, more compact plant
Watering: this plant is happier when allowed to dry out so wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering again. Avoid over-watering as this can cause root rot. Less frequent watering during the winter months. A good tip is to squeeze one of the beads, if firm no water is required, if 'squishy' water the plant
Ideal location: bedrooms, living rooms and studies
Rate of growth: Slow growing, this plant blooms during summer with small white flowers that are said to smell like cinnamon. Tendrils can reach 60-90cm with the right care.
Temperature: this plant is not tolerant of draughts, an average temperature of around 22°C will help the plant to thrive in the cooler winter months temperatures around 13-16°C will maintain good plant health.
Pets: this plant is toxic to cats and dogs. See our range of pet friendly plants if your pet is prone to nibbling.
Sizing: Standard W12cm x H/L20cm (pictured)
Also known as: Senecio herreianus
