Add a touch of the tropics to your garden with this hardy palm plant. Whilst you might associate palms with climates sunnier than what we’re used to in the UK, the Chinese Windmill Palm is made of strong stuff and can cope with temperatures as low as -10°C!
This plant is native to China, as its common name suggests, where its coarse and strong leaves are traditionally used to make ropes and sacks.
Its fan-like leaves give this plant a real wow factor. It can live in a large pot on your patio, or planted directly into the ground, somewhere sunny, just make sure it’s located out of the wind. This plant is also non-toxic, so safe around your furry friends.
