For a pop of purple pollinators will flock to, you can't go wrong with a Verbena. This pretty plant loves the sunshine, so place it in direct sunlight and it will reward you with blooms all summer long.
Verbenas are very low maintenance, perfect for new plant parents. They work well in pots or borders, bringing height and texture when placed at the back. It has sturdy stems, which means it holds its own against the wind and won't require staking as some taller plants do. Be careful not to overwater - Verbenas have a tendency to wilt if you do so.
Keep your verbena flowering for longer by deadheading in spring and you should see blooms from spring through to autumn. Verbenas are also easy to propagate - do so in the summer months - and make gorgeous gifts for friends and family.
