The Acer Shirazz is a Japanese maple that catches people off guard. New leaves come through in soft pink and white in spring, deepen to green and red through summer, then swing into orange-scarlet for autumn - three different plants for the price of one, essentially. The Shirazz is a great choice for a sheltered garden border or a large patio container. Give it shelter from cold winds, keep the roots moist through dry spells, and avoid baking midday sun for best results.
