Be the hostess with the mostess with our easy guide to table dressing for the big day. It’s all in the details!
Set a theme
Whether you love the Scandi and rustic vibe that lends itself to natural textures, or want to go all out luxe with maximalist patterns and bright colours, setting your theme first will help everything else fall into place seamlessly. This will also ensure you to avoid buying items that you do not need or decorations that do not match what you already have.
Choose your centrepiece
A big decision – there’s many options to choose from here! One option is to go classic and line the table with mini Christmas trees. The natural pine will not only look the part, but smell the part, too, Our trees come complete with decorations and a pot so you can display in seconds. Plus, they can be planted outside to enjoy after the festive season has finished. And who said wreaths were just for your door? Allow them to take centre stage by positioning as the main table piece. You can find our DIY Winter Wonder Wreath Kit here.
Make it a sensory experience
Don’t just stop at this table being a visual treat, add in scented candles to create a delightfully festive scent and warm ambience. We’d recommend dotting tea lights down the table. Alternatively, as Christmas is the perfect time to get a little fancy, you could add lanterns or glass candleholders for a luxe look.
Go natural
Instead of using napkin rings, opt for jute string or old ribbons in bright reds or metallic golds to tie rolled napkins together with. Then slip in a few festive sprigs, berries, foliage and dried flowers to the tie for a subtle nod to nature. Easy, effortless and inexpensive!
Add the finishing touches
To make the dining experience that extra personal, write out homemade place cards and menus for each guest. This is a great way to use up any old card you may have, and will also provide your friends and family with the real restaurant dining experience.
