The Citrus Calamondin is a citrus tree that actually works in the UK, with a bit of seasonal thinking. Spend summer on a sunny patio - it'll reward you with fragrant white blossom and small orange fruits that look incredible, often at the same time as new flowers are opening. Before the first frosts arrive, bring the calamondin inside to a bright windowsill or cool conservatory, water more sparingly, and it'll tick over happily until spring. The fruit is sharp rather than sweet, but brilliant in gin, cooking, and just looking at.

Your outdoor plant will be happiest planted into the garden as soon as possible after it arrives, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for planting, but with a little extra watering, many outdoor plants can also be planted successfully during summer.
Water well after planting, then continue watering regularly for the first few weeks while the roots establish.
Most outdoor plants are chosen to grow outside and can happily stay outdoors all year round. However, this does depend on the specific plant variety and the conditions in your garden.
