Cowboy Cactus in Self-watering Pot

Cowboy Cactus - Euphorbia acrurensis

The Cowboy Cactus looks like it wandered in from a western. Its tall, ridged columns branch out like raised arms, bringing genuine desert character to a bright room. It's technically a euphorbia rather than a true cactus, though it plays the part perfectly.

Give it your sunniest spot and very little else. The sap can irritate skin and is toxic to pets, so handle with care and keep away from cats and dogs.

This one arrives planted into a self-watering insert, sitting inside the Elho Vibes pot. Made in Holland from recycled plastic, the pot does the remembering for you. Fill the reservoir and your cactus drinks exactly what it needs, when it needs it. Desert plants like this drink very little, so add just a small amount to the reservoir and let it run dry between top-ups.

One thing to know - your plant travels dry. When it arrives, fill the reservoir and give the soil a light water from the top. That's its first drink at home, and from then on you'll only need to top up the reservoir every few weeks.

Plant available in 1 size, in 3 pot colours.

• W17cm x H50-60cm

Plant height is measured from the base of the nursery pot to the tip of the tallest leaf when held upright.
