Buddleja - Buddleja davidii 'Candy Little Pink'
Buddlejas have been grown in British gardens for over a century for one very good reason - butterflies cannot resist them. This compact variety, Candy Little Pink, delivers the same nectar-rich flower spikes that pollinators seek out, but in a size that suits a smaller garden or a generous patio pot. The warm pink blooms appear in July and keep coming right through to September, which is longer than most flowering shrubs will give you at this time of year.
It asks very little in return. Full sun, reasonable drainage, and a hard prune back in early spring - that is genuinely all it needs to perform well year after year.
If you want to bring more wildlife into your outdoor space, this is one of the most reliable ways to do it.

Your outdoor plant will be happiest planted into the garden as soon as possible after it arrives, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for planting, but with a little extra watering, many outdoor plants can also be planted successfully during summer.
Water well after planting, then continue watering regularly for the first few weeks while the roots establish.
Most outdoor plants are chosen to grow outside and can happily stay outdoors all year round. However, this does depend on the specific plant variety and the conditions in your garden.
