A little about this plant

Wisteria sinensis (Light Purple) - Wisteria sinensis

Few things in a British garden match a wisteria in full flower. The Wisteria sinensis produces long, pendulous clusters of soft lilac-purple blossom in May, with a sweet scent that carries across the garden. Chinese wisteria is a vigorous climbing plant - it needs a solid support and a consistent pruning routine (once in August, once in late winter, cutting sideshoots back to two or three buds each time) - but it's not complicated once you're in the habit. The payoff is one of the most impressive flowering displays you can achieve on a wall or pergola.

Plant may arrive in bud.

outdoor plant FAQs

How long should I wait until repotting my outdoor plant?

Your outdoor plant will be happiest planted into the garden as soon as possible after it arrives, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for planting, but with a little extra watering, many outdoor plants can also be planted successfully during summer.

How often should I water it?

Water well after planting, then continue watering regularly for the first few weeks while the roots establish.

Will the plant surive all year round outside?

Most outdoor plants are chosen to grow outside and can happily stay outdoors all year round. However, this does depend on the specific plant variety and the conditions in your garden.
