Rubus idaeus 'Malling Promise' (Raspberry) - Rubus idaeus 'Malling Promise'
The Rubus idaeus 'Malling Promise' is one of the earliest summer raspberries you can grow, with large, sweet fruit ripening from late June. A summer-fruiting raspberry variety, the Malling Promise means you pick in June and July, then cut all the canes that fruited right down to the ground afterwards - new canes grow up to fruit the following year. It performs well even in a poor British summer and is a good choice for containers as well as open ground. Keep the soil mulched to retain moisture when the fruit is forming.

Your outdoor plant will be happiest planted into the garden as soon as possible after it arrives, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for planting, but with a little extra watering, many outdoor plants can also be planted successfully during summer.
Water well after planting, then continue watering regularly for the first few weeks while the roots establish.
Most outdoor plants are chosen to grow outside and can happily stay outdoors all year round. However, this does depend on the specific plant variety and the conditions in your garden.
