Dark leaves, a twisty trunk and absolutely no chance of blending into the background. The Melany is a Rubber Plant with deep burgundy-black leaves and a naturally compact, full shape.
The Melany has been grown with a twisted stem, trained slowly into a spiral as it developed at the nursery. That means every plant has its own twist, quite literally. It's a brilliant way to add some personality to a large indoor plant.
Give the Rubber Plant bright indirect light to help keep its deep colouring looking its best. Too little light and the leaves can start to lose their darker tones. Water when the top few centimetres of soil have dried out and give the leaves an occasional wipe to keep them clean. The milky sap can irritate skin and is toxic if eaten, so keep it away from pets and small children.
