Hibiscus Red - Hibiscus syriacus
The Hibiscus Red is a fully hardy flowering shrub with deep red blooms and a contrasting central eye, appearing from late summer into autumn. It's one of the best plants for late-season colour in a sunny border, and it improves with age - after a few years it becomes noticeably more generous with its flowers. No special treatment required: a sunny spot, and a light prune in spring to keep a good shape is all the hardy hibiscus needs.

Your outdoor plant will be happiest planted into the garden as soon as possible after it arrives, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for planting, but with a little extra watering, many outdoor plants can also be planted successfully during summer.
Water well after planting, then continue watering regularly for the first few weeks while the roots establish.
Most outdoor plants are chosen to grow outside and can happily stay outdoors all year round. However, this does depend on the specific plant variety and the conditions in your garden.
