A little about this Bulb

Six spring bulbs chosen to be layered together in one container, so the pot flowers from February through to May instead of all at once. Crocus and grape hyacinth open first at the top, followed by dwarf daffodils and species tulips, with taller tulips coming through last. The layers flower one after another, so the pot stays full throughout.

Some bulbs in this collection are toxic to cats and dogs if eaten.

88 bulbs included: 12 Crocus, 18 Narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête', 30 Grape Hyacinth, 15 Tulip 'Little Beauty', 8 Tulip 'Purissima', 5 Tulip 'Ballerina'.

How to Grow

  • Use a pot at least 30cm deep with drainage holes, and put a layer of grit or crocks in the base. Plant in layers, starting with the largest bulbs at the bottom:
  • Bottom layer, around 20cm deep: Tulip 'Ballerina' and Tulip 'Purissima'
  • Middle layer, around 12–15cm deep: Narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête' and Tulip 'Little Beauty'
  • Top layer, around 8cm deep: Grape Hyacinth and Crocus
  • Cover each layer with compost before adding the next, set the bulbs close together but not quite touching, and water well once finished. There are enough bulbs for two pots of around 35cm across. October and November are the best months to plant.
