The British Kitchen Garden - Prunus domestica 'Victoria', Pyrus communis 'Conference', Rubus idaeus 'Malling Promise'
There is something genuinely satisfying about growing your own fruit. Not in a worthy way - just in the simple, honest pleasure of walking into the garden and picking something for pudding. These three make that possible, and they happen to be three of the most reliable fruiting plants in British gardening.
The Victoria plum has been the nation's favourite since 1844 and it's not hard to see why - spectacular spring blossom followed by those sweet, golden-fleshed fruits in late summer. It earns its space twice over. The Conference pear is equally dependable: a consistent cropper that delivers its long, elegant fruits in September and October just as the rest of the garden is winding down. And the raspberry is the summer bonus - generous canes of deep red fruit from July onwards, ready for the bowl long before the trees have thought about fruiting.
Blossom in spring. Raspberries in summer. Plums in late summer. Pears in autumn. That's a productive garden.
The Victoria plum is partially self-fertile but crops better with another plum nearby. The Conference pear is self-fertile. Raspberry harvests July to August. All fully hardy.
Our 'With Pots' option is paired with perfectly fitting terracotta pots. Pot substitutions may be made based on availability.
