A little about this plant

This beautiful hanging plant it native to Mexico, Central America and Colombia. The Tradescantia Purpursii has very distinctive purple and green foliage on long tendrils that have deep purple undersides.

Light conditions: indirect, bright light.
Neediness: stems can be fragile and prone to snapping with direct contact so avoid placing in an area where it might get bumped into or brushed past. Regular misting is important to maintain humidity.
Watering: Water when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch, reduce during the cooler months. Do not allow soil to become soggy as this could damage the roots.
Ideal location: kitchens and bathrooms.
Rate of growth:  Average. Pruning is important for this Tradescantia as it will keep it looking healthy, so feel free to give it a trim if it looks tired or bushy.
Temperature: keep at normal room temperature.
Pets: this plant is toxic to cats and dogs. See our range of pet friendly plants if your pet is prone to nibbling.

Returns

If you'd like to return a living item, let the team know within 30 days by emailing hello@beardsanddaisies.co.uk or live chat if online. Please attach a photo of the faulty or damaged plant. Other items can be returned for a refund within 30 days as long as they're unused and in re-saleable condition.
