Misting by day and solving mysteries by night, our sharp-eyed, green-thumbed Inspector cracks the toughest cases in plant care.
Whether it’s curling leaves, a suspicious yellow spot, or the dreaded white fuzz of a mealybug mob, The Plant Inspector is trained in the subtle language of stems and soil, he’s your go-to for sniffing out any suspicious activity in the houseplant world.
So... who is The Plant Inspector, exactly?
Think of him as your plant's personal detective, equal parts horticulturist and Sherlock Holmes. With years of hands-on experience, a thorough knowledge of everything from light levels to getting rid of those pesky bugs, The Plant Inspector is here to keep your houseplants happy, healthy and alive.
He’s seen it all:
-
A sad Peace Lily slumped in the hallway.
-
An overwatered Calathea gasping for air.
-
A once-thriving Snake Plant showing signs of silent neglect.
And each time? The mystery gets solved, the plant gets a new lease of life, and the culprit learns something new.
What kind of cases can I report?
Anything and everything. The Plant Inspector is open for consultation on:
-
Wilting or drooping
-
Yellowing, browning, or spotty leaves
-
Soil looking... suspicious (Is it mould? Is it normal? No idea?)
-
Unwanted visitors (We’re looking at you, spider mites)
Not sure if your plant is being dramatic or genuinely in distress? Report it anyway. The Plant Inspector loves a challenge.
Behind the Badge: The Man, The Myth, The Plant Inspector
Before you fire off your plant emergency report, let’s get to know the detective behind the desk. Meet the man, the myth, the leaf-loving legend. We cornered him in the polytunnel for a quick-fire Q&A…
Favourite plant?
Bird of Paradise – I love how the leaves naturally split to prevent damage. Beautiful and clever!
Plant on your wishlist?
A long and trailing Pothos, at least 2 metres long - I love trailing plants.
Favourite polytunnel snack?
KitKat. Nice and easy to grab and munch while on plant patrol.
Top tip for plant parents?
Don’t overwater! Use a moisture meter or just dip your finger in – if the top couple of inches are dry, then it’s time.
Favourite newbie from our collection?
Alocasia Tiny Dancer. It’s unique and interesting!
How it works
