Vriesea Astrid
The Vriesea Astrid is commonly known as the Flaming Sword - quite the powerful name and this houseplant certainly lives up to it! It flowers for three to six months of the year, and its blooms are spectacular. It comes with a perfectly fitting ceramic, ribbed pot.
There are 250 varieties of Vriesea and this plant has origins in south and central America. It's an epiphyte in its native habitat, which means that despite its tendency to grow on other plants, it doesn't harm them in the process.
This is a tropical plant so it will appreciate humidity and misting in order to provide moisture to the foliage. It's very easy to look after, making it ideal for new plant parents.
Please note, plant may have yellow variegation.
These pots are glazed and finished by hand, which means you may notice some minor imperfections such as small surface bubbles or light variations in colour.

Returns
If you'd like to return a living item, let the team know within 30 days by emailing hello@beardsanddaisies.co.uk or live chat if online. Please attach a photo of the faulty or damaged plant. Other items can be returned for a refund within 30 days as long as they're unused and in re-saleable condition.

As a United fan I think this one, which I've named Nistel, is my favourite of the bunch for the spikes of red its added to my life :) Glorious looking plant with lush green foliage I'm lucky to have gotten 5 red flowers including a claw which makes me love it even more.
These plants and pots have really elevated my flat to another level and brought some much needed life into my living space, I already want more! It's early days still but I'm very happy and will do everything I can to keep them as healthy :) - Pictures taken about one hour after unpacking and watering.
